Kenny Pickett grew up an Eagles fan and now he is one.

After two years with the Steelers, Pickett spoke to the Philadelphia media on Monday and said it was “time” to move on from the Steelers.

“I just thought it was time, it just felt like it was time from the things that transpired and wanted to get a chance to go somewhere else,” said Pickett.

He also addressed a rumor that he refused to dress for a game against the Seahawks in Seattle, late in the season.

“There was a plan there for that game,” said Pickett. Lt went down exactly the way it was planned to go down that entire week, and I was coming off the ankle surgery, so it is what is it.”

Pickett talked about Russell Wilson coming to the Steelers before he was traded.

“I think the communication is what it is, it was behind closed doors, I’m confident with the way I handled it,” said Pickett.

Pickett, a native of Ocean Township, New Jersey, grew up and Eagles fan and said he hopes to provide the same happy memories that the Eagles of the past gave him.

He was asked about his time in Pittsburgh.

“Gave everything I had there and loved all of my teammates and the coaches that I came across,” said Pickett. “Some absolute great memories that I’ll take forever and life-long friendships and talking to guys after it all went down, just grateful that we had the time together and wish everyone over there nothing but the best.”

Pickett also said he wants to “get back to having fun.”

Guess he wasn’t having fun in Pittsburgh.
