The Bears hope to have greater clarity on Dalton's ailing left knee by Wednesday, when they'll begin installing their game plan for their matchup against the Raiders on Sunday. Rookie quarterback Justin Fields, who started the last two games, will return to his backup role if Dalton is cleared to play, Nagy said.

"When Andy is healthy, he's our starter," Nagy reiterated Monday morning at Halas Hall.

Dalton suffered a bone bruise in his left knee during the Bears' win against the Bengals on Sept. 19 at Soldier Field. He practiced in a limited fashion last week, but the Bears opted to name Fields their starter Saturday night.

Fields was 11-of-17 for 209 yards and an interception in the Bears' 24-14 win against the Lions on Sunday at Soldier Field. Chicago posted 373 yards of offense in the victory.

The Bears are required to issue their next injury report Wednesday.
