After taking care of business against Iowa Saturday night in the Big Ten Championship, the Michigan Wolverines are headed back to the College Football Playoff. Michigan will play Alabama on New Year’s Day in the Rose Bowl, their first trip to Pasadena since 2006.

In the other matchup, the #2 Washington Huskies will play the #3 Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama knocked off previous No. 1-ranked Georgia in the SEC title game on Saturday, doing enough in the committee’s eyes to pip Florida State, who finished just outside the top four, despite beating Louisville in the ACC Championship to finish the regular season 13-0.
