Things do not seem to be simmering down between the Yankees and Astros.
A day after Aaron Judge appeared to mock Jose Altuve during his home run trot, Astros catcher Martin Maldonado seemed to take a shot back at Judge and the Yankees when he hit an opposite-field home run off Jameson Taillon on Sunday.
As Maldonado rounded third base, he pulled his shirt down — a direct reference to the unsubstantiated theory that the Astros used buzzers to cheat during the 2019 season.

By showing his chest, Maldonado — who was on the 2019 team — was implying there were no buzzers.
Oh, but the trolling did not end there.
Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro hit a home run the following inning and Rougned Odor greeted him with a jacket, which was a reference to Judge’s postgame comments on Saturday after his dig at Altuve.

Judge said that he was only telling his teammates to “button up” because it gets chilly with the roof closed at Minute Maid Park, where it was 73 degrees on Saturday.
In the eighth, Sanchez did the same gesture as Judge after he hit a three-run home run. He also received a jacket when getting back to the dugout.
Prior to the game, Astros manager Dusty Baker said Judge’s actions were “wrong” and once again questioned when baseball will move on from the Astros cheating scandal.
Clearly, there’s still some bad blood between these two teams and it does not seem as if it will be going away any time soon.
