ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto didn't hold back one bit about how much he loved sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium over the weekend.
Although he was hurt and didn't play in the four-game sweep, which was something the Reds hadn't done since 1990, Votto thoroughly enjoyed it. He spoke to media on Tuesday and dropped a vulgar and passionate quote:
"We had some s***-talking m***********s in St. Louis after the first series sweep," Votto said, talking about the three-game sweep the Cardinals pulled off against them on April 23-25. "It's nice to go to their road ballpark and let them have it. ... How'd you like that?"
This rivalry between The Reds and Cardinals has been brewing for a long time. Votto is really stoking the fire now.
"(In the first sweep) we had some people sweeping brooms and s*** like that while we were leaving," Votto said.
The Cardinals and Reds have a loooong time to sit on this, as they won't face each other again until Aug. 30 - Sept. 1 in Cincinnati.
