Late last month, The Sporting News had Pickett going to the Steelers.

“This is controversial, we get it,” said CBS Sports NFL reporter Ryan Wilson. “But if the Browns don't want to pay Baker Mayfield north of $35 million a year on a long-term deal, they could look to the draft. Pickett has been lights out this season and has ascended from Day 3 pick to likely hearing his name called in Round 1.”

CBS Sports Chris Trapasso has Pickett going to Denver with the 14th pick and Josh Edwards has pick sliding to 22nd overall, to New Orleans with the selection right after the Steelers.

Edwards has the Steelers taking Northern Iowa offensive tackle Trevor Penning.  Wilson has the Steelers also going offensive line, Mississippi tackle Charles Cross.  Trapasso says the Steelers will go quarterback, but Cincinnati senior Desmond Ridder.

It’s a way too early look at the NFL Draft in late April, but already the national experts are thinking offensive line and quarterback for the Steelers in the first round.
