Milwaukee Bucks guard George Hill has been among the most vocal players inside the NBA bubble about Black Lives Matter and enacting social change.
So, when Hill was absent for the national anthem (during which players on both teams knelt) ahead of Saturday’s playoff game against the Orlando Magic, many thought it may have been his own protest.
Alas, that was not the case.
Instead, nature was calling for Hill – as it does before every game – and he was rather blunt about it when asked.
“You want the honest truth?” Hill responded when asked about his absence. “I take a s—t every time before the game. I’ve been doing it for the last four years.”
Hill did not just leave it at that, either. He was very elaborate in his answer, even suggesting reporters ought to look back at footage before previous games to see where he is and what he is doing right before tip-off.
“If you go back and look at any footage before our previous games before we came here into this bubble, that’s what I do before every game,” he said. “And it just so happened that you guys were snooping in the hallways and caught me coming back from my pregame ritual. That’s what I always do. It’s the honest truth.”
