If local fans felt a bit priced out of the action due to the record-setting ticket prices for the Final Four at the Caesars Superdome, they should check out the seats for Monday's title-game action.

One of the 70-plus-thousand seats for the epic showdowns between Kansas and Villanova, followed by an instant-classic between Duke and North Carolina would've run nearly $400, but tickets for the title clash between the Tar Heels and Jayhawks have dropped precipitously. A ticket to the action could be found for under $40 as of Monday, according to TicketIQ, the lowest figure ever tracked by the website for a title game.

That figure comes in significantly lower than what was seen for the women's NCAA final between UConn and South Carolina up in Minneapolis, which logged a get-in price of over $70.

But even with the sky-high prices, the fans didn't disappoint for what turned into a back-and-forth, 81-77 Tar Heel victory that came down to the final seconds and ultimately ended legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's college career, having announced previously he'd retire at the end of the season. The crowd was loud, packed, and hanging on every twist and turn of the action, a fact that wasn't lost on the players on the floor.

"I kept finding myself just zoning out and just looking at how many people were out there," said UNC guard Leaky Black. "It was just so many people. ... It was just like, surreal, looking all the way up as far as I can see almost and seeing all those people up there."

The Tar Heels and Jayhawks were well represented in New Orleans on Saturday, and the same is likely to hold true for Monday, when the two Blue Blood programs will vie for their 7th and 4th titles, respectively.
