Does a player that has been compared to a “barroom brawler” sound like a plus on the offensive line? If so, fans should be happy after the Chicago Bears selected Teven Jenkins with the 38th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jenkins, an offensive lineman who played at multiple spots along the line at Oklahoma State, was a wrecking ball for the Cowboys, helping to clear room for Chuba Hubbard and protect Spencer Sanders with an All-Big 12 accolade in multiple campaigns. The statistics can tell you a part of the story — he literally didn’t allow a sack through the 2019 and 2020 seasons — but watching just how ferociously he blocks truly enables you to see just how exciting a prospect he is.

Here’s the rest of the rundown on Jenkins:

Measurables: 6'6"/320
School: Oklahoma State
Accolades: 2020 First-Team All-Big 12; 2019 Honorable Mention All-Big 12; 2018 Honorable Mention All-Big 12

Strengths:
- Played at both tackle positions in college. Versatility and strength to play multiple roles on the line.
- Plays with high effort and ferocity with every snap.
- Can seal blockers to create running lanes.
- Can completely humiliate a defender and literally remove him from the play.
- Quick to establish his block and make his decisive move.

Weaknesses:
- Arm length is shorter than your typical tackle and more in line with that of a guard.
- Could be beaten by quicker, longer defenders.
- Could be susceptible if he overcommits with his typical violent play.
- May be a little top-heavy.

Expert scout analysis:
Jordan Reid, The Draft Network
- “...he’s created a habit of establishing quick wins by striking his hands and controlling defenders.”
- “A well above average finisher, Jenkins is the type of offensive lineman that attempts to humiliate players in the opposite color jersey.”
- “Jenkins' athleticism and lack of overall range may create questions about his potential at offensive tackle and there will be some teams who grade him as a guard as a result.”

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
- “...not only plays with excellent upper-body power and hand strength, he combines it with a desired level of body control and athleticism…”
- “...can be an intolerant run blocker, looking to finish and bury his opponent…”
- “...has good tackle tape, but his short arms and average range in pass sets could be something to keep an eye on.”

Player comparison:
Team sources told Walter Football that Jenkins is not unlike Washington Football Team tackle Morgan Moses, who has put together several consecutive years of solid production at the right end of the offensive line. With some similar physical dimensions (6-foot-6, 330 pounds), Moses has been able to bully opponents in both the run and pass block. However, his arm length (35.38 inches) is significantly longer than the sub-33-inch arms of Jenkins, meaning that perhaps someone like Mitchell Schwartz or Jason Peters is a better comparison in that light, as Joe Mahoney of Mile High Report pointed out.
