Baker Mayfield is doing things that the Browns have not seen in nearly 70 years.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback tied a franchise record with a monstrous first half on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, throwing four touchdown passes before heading into halftime with a commanding 38-7 lead.
The only other time a Browns quarterback threw four touchdown passes in the first half was in 1951 when Hall of Famer Otto Graham accomplished the feat.
Mayfield nearly broke Graham’s franchise record, too, if Donovan People-Jones did not drop a touchdown pass on the opening drive, forcing the Browns to settle for a field goal.
Mayfield finished the half completing 20 of 25 passes for 290 yards and a 154.6 QB rating.
Despite the team’s success this season, Mayfield has found himself at the throngs of fans on social media in recent weeks for overthrowing open receivers.
But this week it was a different story and Browns fans erupted with joy in Mayfield’s performance.
I'd be a big fan of Baker Mayfield throwing 8 TDs today, tbh
