Former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Travis Rudolph, who later had a brief stint in the NFL with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder on Wednesday.

Giants beat reporter Dan Duggan shared screenshots of the official booking, with the charges listed below his personal information.

Duggan also noted that Rudolph was best known for a viral moment from 2016 when he was in college in which he ate lunch with an autistic boy during a visit to a middle school. The following year, Rudolph's father was killed at a nightclub in Florida after a gun accidentally went off and a bullet struck him in the back after going through a wall (via ESPN's David M. Hale).

Rudolph recorded 2,311 yards and 18 touchdowns in his three-year career at Florida State, playing alongside Dalvin Cook and leading the team in receiving in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. His NFL career was much more forgettable — he recorded eight catches for 101 yards with the 2017 Giants, was cut prior to the 2018 season, and torn his ACL in first practice after the Miami Dolphins signed him. He then played briefly in the Canadian Football League.

Rudolph is also the cousin of former return specialist and wide receiver Devin Hester (via Hale).

His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, April 8, 2021 (via ABC 27 WTXL Tallahassee).
