As far as improbable endings — and unbelievable collapses — go, the New York Jets’ 31-30 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday is certainly up there.
With 1:55 remaining in the game, it appeared as if the Browns were going to move to 2-0 while the Jets drop to 0-2 after Nick Chubb scored a touchdown to give Cleveland a 30-17 lead.
In fact, the Browns had a 99.99%-win probability at that point, yet, somehow they came away with an L.
Joe Flacco connected with Corey Davis on blown coverage for a 66-yard touchdown to pull Gang Green within one score with 1:22 left.
They then recovered the onside kick and drove down field before Flacco connected for 15 yards with rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson for the game-winning touchdown with 22 seconds remaining.
Greg Zuerlein converted the extra point and Ashtyn Davis picked off Jacoby Brissett in the final seconds to solidify an unbelievable win.
Needless to say, many on social media were stunned. Maybe we shall call it the Curse of Brownie the Elf.

The Browns deserve every little bit of this. This is the ultimate bad franchise schadenfreude. pic.twitter.com/KGJx1nIwDa
