Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Carl Nassib announced that he's gay Monday, setting him up to become the first openly gay player to compete in a regular season game:
In addition to his announcement, Nassib says that he's making a donation of $100,000 to The Trevor Project, which aims to prevent suicides among LGBTQ youth.
Nassib was a third-round pick by the Cleveland Browns out of Penn State in the 2016 NFL Draft. Now 28, Nassib is entering his second season with the Raiders and has 20 1/2 career sacks.
