According to a report, the Steelers 2024 starting quarterback is already on the roster.

The Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac says the Steelers won’t want to bring in a quarterback that plans on being a starter.

That means the Steelers are going likely go with Kenny Pickett, or maybe Mason Rudolph (if he re-signed with Pittsburgh in free agency).

If true, that would eliminate names like Justin Fields, Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins to Pittsburgh.

Current betting odds show Pittsburgh has the best odds in landing Fields at -120.

The report that the Steelers are looking for a backup quarterback in free agency or the draft prompted NBC Sports and Audacy Insider Peter King to write, “Come again? In a division with Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson, the Steelers would actually choose to enter camp with (Pickett and Rudolph)?”

King adds, “That sounds like a colossal misjudgment of your quarterback position.”

Oddsmakers, NFL insiders and sports talk hosts believe the Steelers need to make a move at quarterback.

The organization seems to believe Pickett or Rudolph can punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.
