Quinn Ewers – No. 1 QB in 2021 class – will enter transfer portal

Quinn Ewers appears to be targeting a return to his home state of Texas.

According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports, Ewers told Ryan Day and Ohio State that he plans to enter the transfer portal, with the report saying that the 18-year-old is interested in playing at one of Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Those three schools probably aren't a coincidence for the No. 1 quarterback in the 2021 class, as he is from Southlake, Texas. While Ohio State is one of the top football programs in the country, it's not hard to imagine that Ewers got homesick for Texas.

Life may have come at Ewers a bit too quickly too. He graduated high school early, so he could enroll at Ohio State for the 2021-22 school year. Essentially, Ewers skipped his senior year of high school.

Ewers attended Carroll Senior High School, the same program that produced New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey and long-time backup quarterback Chase Daniel, among others. In 25 starts during his high school career, Ewers tossed 73 touchdowns to just nine interceptions, while racking up 6,445 passing yards.

But as Ewers prepares to transfer, his high school is sitting on a 13-0 record and slated to take on Allen High School in the 2021 UIL Texas Football State Championships Saturday.

Nonetheless, Ewers made a life-changing amount of money during his brief time at Ohio State through endorsement deals:
