The Patriots have made their first out-of-home addition to their defense in 2024.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, New England is signing former Browns linebacker Sione Takitaki. It's reportedly a two-year deal for $6.5 million that can go up to $10 million with likely-to-be-earned incentives.

Takitaki was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 2019 Draft and notably, New England executives Eliot Wolf and Alonzo Highsmith were among the front office brass who drafted him. Thorough his first six season, the 6-foot-2 backer has tallied 268 total tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions.

The Patriots lost free agent LB Mack Wilson Sr. to the Cardinals earlier in the day, making Takitaki essentially a replacement.
