Joel Embiid set a career-high on Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center scoring 70 points on 24-41 field-goals, 1-2 three-pointers, and 21-23 free-throws in just 37 minutes in a win over the Spurs, breaking Wilt Chamberlain's Philadelphia 76ers franchise record for points in a game, which was previously 68.
It is, amazingly, Embiid's 21st consecutive 30-point game. The performance comes on the 18th anniversary of Lower Merion native Kobe Bryant's 81-point performance.
Embiid tallied 18 rebounds and five assists to go along with his 70 points and just one turnover.
Embiid and Michael Jordan are the only players in NBA history to have at least 65 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.
Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama also had a great game, scoring 33 points on 10-19 FG and grabbing seven boards.
