Pickens denies hitting like to post critical of Pickett

Steelers WR explains what the offense needs to do better going forward

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers receiver George Pickens denied that he liked a comment following the game Sunday to an Instagram post that ‘nobody to get that man the ball’.

The post critical of Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett against San Francisco. It’s a post that has since been deleted from his account. Here is what he said in the locker room on Monday.

“I saw that, my comments aren’t even on my Instagram,” Pickens said. “I don’t even know how that.. somebody must have screenshotted or added it theirself. You can’t even tag me.”

Asked a follow-up question ‘you didn’t hit like’?

“I don’t got no comments,” Pickens said. “I don’t got no comments on my Instagram you can’t mention me or tag me.”

Asked about his relationship with the Steelers starting quarterback?

“They was taking away the deep ball,” Pickens said. “I feel like the check-downs were more open than normal. All we can keep doing is just progressing, for real.”

So not a direct answer. He explained that San Francisco was playing a lot of Cover 3 and Cover 4 in the red zone Sunday and it’s nothing they can blame themselves for because it was tough to get the ball deep. Adding all we can do is keep working.

Is Pickens frustrated?

“No, not for real because I know the guys are going to keep working,” Pickens said. “We are just going to keep working. That’s probably the best thing you can do. It’s just one game, just keep working, that’s probably the only answer.”

When asked if he believed the offense would improve this week and subsequently in the future?

“I hope it’s good I can’t speak for the future,” Pickens said. “I can’t see in the future. I hope it’s a great outcome. I would hope the outcomes would be different the next couple of games.
All we can keep doing is working.”
