Report: Steelers have discussed a trade for Tee Higgins

According to 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi, the Steelers reportedly have discussed trying to trade for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

According to the PM Team co-host, “They love the player. But there’s questions about acquisition cost and his next contract cost.”

Another hurdle, the Bengals and Steelers are both in the AFC North.

Higgins reportedly has requested a trade after the team is expected to have him player under the team’s franchise tag in 2024.

Taken in the second-round of the 2020 draft, Higgins has developed into one of the best receivers in the league, though he did deal with some injuries last season.

He has a career total of 3,684 yards, 257 catches and 24 touchdowns.

He averaged a career-high 15.6 yards per catch last season

According to an article in Bleacher Report, the Bengals and Higgins have yet to talk about a contract extension.

Higgins is set to make over $21.8 million this coming season and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
