The Carolina Panthers were recently reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport as the “most likely landing spot” for Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
But it does not seem as if he will be welcomed by at least one of his receivers.

An Instagram account called Panthers.way posted Rapoport’s report and receiver Robby Anderson appeared to comment on it, writing, “Noooooo.”
Anderson did not back off his comment, either. The same account later posted about Anderson’s reaction, with a graphic that said the wide receiver does not want Mayfield in Carolina.
Anderson commented on that post, “facts.”
Sam Darnold, whom Anderson has a good rapport with dating back to their time together with the Jets, remains the starting quarterback at the moment but it is likely the Panthers could add another quarterback to either replace or compete with Darnold for the starting job.
The team holds the No. 6 overall pick in the draft later this month and could opt for someone like Kenny Pickett or Malik Willis. In addition to Mayfield, another trade option could include 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
Meanwhile, the Browns are likely to move Mayfield after acquiring Deshaun Watson as their starting quarterback in a trade with the Houston Texans last month.
Mayfield, a former No. 1 overall pick, has had a tumultuous career with the Browns. He led the team to its first playoff win since 1995 in 2020 but last season took a major regression as he tried to battle through injuries.
