Kansas - Over 3.5 +120, Under 3.5 -152
I’ll cut to the point, I expect the Jayhawks to be on the four line come Sunday.
Most respected bracketologists have the Jayhawks hanging on to the final three seed, No. 12 overall, or towards the top of the four line.
While there are opportunities for KU to lock up a top three seed, there is cause for concern for the team in the Big 12 tournament this week.
Star big man David McCormack is going to be unavailable in Missouri due to COVID-19 contact tracing.
Bill Self already uses a short rotation, the Jayhawks are outside the top nations top 300 in bench minutes per KenPom, and McCormack is the team’s most used player.
Kansas faces a talented Oklahoma team in the quarterfinals without McCormack. The Sooners already beat the Jayhawks once this season but even a win there would not secure a top three seed for Rock Chalk.
Even if Kansas is able to get past Oklahoma, I don’t expect them s to make a deep run without their man in the middle. With teams such as Texas and Oklahoma State in the same tournament and on their heels for a three seed, KU may slip behind their Big 12 foes.
This situation calls for a bet on the + money price. There is going to be a lot of reshuffling between seeds over the next week, and Kansas may be in some trouble given the loss of McCormack for the week.
Pick: Kansas Over 3.5 Seed +120
