The NFL playoffs are upon us and all eyes now turn to the ever-popular Super Bowl odds. The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers have remained two of the favorites from the preseason through the regular season, though the Packers’ odds have shortened, while the Chiefs’ have gotten slightly longer.

The Chiefs are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions and are enjoying their status as the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Packers finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, and are the top seed in the NFC heading into the playoffs.

Behind the two frontrunners are the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Baltimore Ravens. All of their odds have shortened since the preseason. As playoff anticipation starts to ramp up, let’s take a look at the odds for some of the more highly-favored teams to win the Super Bowl.

FanDuel Super Bowl Odds

Kansas City Chiefs

Current Odds: +220

Preseason Odds: +195

The Chiefs are the clear favorite this year to repeat last season’s Super Bowl win. Their odds are a little longer than they were at +195 in the preseason but they still lead the pack at +220.

Kansas City enters the playoffs atop the AFC, which was not impacted by their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers to end the season. Plus, their starters will be well-rested for the playoffs after sitting out that game.

I think Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will at least make it to the Super Bowl. However, the best move is probably to put your money on one of the other favored teams for teams with higher value. The AFC is stacked and teams like the Bills are capable of beating the Chiefs, so +195 odds are a little short right now.

Green Bay Packers

Current odds: +480

Preseason odds: +700

The Packers are the Chiefs’ top seed counterpart, taking the No. 1 spot in the NFC heading into the postseason. Green Bay’s odds are shorter than they were when they were at +700 in the preseason compared to +480 now, as they wrapped up the regular season 13-3. They also finished first in the NFL in points scored with 509, as well as first in average points per game with 31.8.

The Packers’ only losses were to the Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, and the Indianapolis Colts. If you put money on the Packers’ Super Bowl odds at that higher return in the preseason, good for you, but this is still a solid bet. It could likely be an Aaron Rodgers-Patrick Mahomes MVP race battle of the State Farm spokesmen Super Bowl showdown and the Packers have a solid fighting chance.

Buffalo Bills

Current odds: +750

Preseason odds: +1300

The Bills’ odds have shortened considerably since the preseason after their impressive 13-3 run this year. Josh Allen is also in the MVP race conversation with Mahomes and Rodgers and led the Bills’ offense to end the season third in the NFL.

The Bills only lost to the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and the Chiefs, and cliched the AFC’s No. 2 seed. And the loss to Arizona came on a Hail Mary finish in one of the greatest plays in NFL history. Buffalo was only outplayed really only twice this season, but both of those teams are in the AFC playoffs.

Bills Mafia is riding high right now and, lucky for them, they will be able to break tables together this year since Buffalo can have fans in attendance at home playoff games. The Bills are on fire and putting money on these +750 Super Bowl odds is not that crazy of a move.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Current odds: +1000

Preseason odds: +1400

The Tom Brady-led Buccaneers had somewhat of an inconsistent season, finishing 11-5 with losses to the New Orleans Saints (twice), Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and the Chiefs. Tampa Bay finished third in the league in points per game with 30.8, behind only the Packers and Bills. They also beat the Packers this season in one of only three losses for Green Bay.

Tampa Bay's Super Bowl odds have shortened only slightly since the preseason, as they were overvalued in the offseason after signing Brady. Many sportsbooks are also rooting against the Buccaneers because they are the biggest liability to win the Super Bowl with the 14-1 odds.

You never know what team you’re going to get with the Bucs from game to game, your classic box of chocolates situation. I don’t think they’ll quite make it to the Super Bowl, but, knowing the power of the almighty Tom Brady, especially when the odds are against him, I wouldn’t count them out completely. Also, Tampa Bay is hosting this Super Bowl, which would make a win this year all the sweeter for the Bucs. However, no team hosting the Super Bowl has ever won it. But if any team can be the first, it’s Tom Brady’s.

Baltimore Ravens

Current odds: +1100

Preseason odds: +1700

I don’t have a great feeling about the Ravens. Baltimore’s odds have shortened only a bit since the preseason after they ended up with an 11-5 season record. Their losses came at the hands of the Chiefs, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and the Pittsburgh Steelers twice. And Baltimore is set to face the Titans on Wild Card Sunday, a team that has already beaten them twice in the last calendar year.

It was an impressive season for Lamar Jackson, who became the first quarterback to record over 1,000 rushing yards in consecutive seasons, but this team doesn’t have the steam to make it to the Super Bowl. They won’t make it past the Titans. Put your money somewhere else and give this one a skip.
