VIEW FROM PITTSBURGH: "Steelers ready to win next year, just need the right OC in place.”

Matt Canada has been a big topic for the Steelers entering the offseason.

It seemed like almost every game this season there were calls all around for the team to move on from Canada, even after they started going on their second-half run.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers reporter, Ray Fittipaldo, joined The Fan Morning Show to talk about Canada’s future with the team.

“Mike [Tomlin] hasn’t even finished the exit interviews with the players yet much less the coaches,” Fittipaldo explained. “There is no inside info on which way he’s leaning…but I'm still kind of like 80/20 that they will move on (from Matt Canada) and find another guy."

Mike Tomlin says despite the solid second half the team put together, he looks into the totality of the season when making decisions.

Fittipaldo explained that with the aging defense on the team, there is no better time to be competitive, “This team is ready to win next year, just need the right OC in place.”

Ray outlined possible aggressive fits if the Steelers want to make the right move with names Frank Reich and Byron Leftwich, who each have experience winning with different kinds of quarterbacks.

Whatever route Tomlin decides to take, I’m sure there would be a lot of happy Steelers fans with a new name in town.
