The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing for their playoff lives down in Baltimore and things got a bit harder in the third quarter. Linebacker T.J. Watt went down with an apparent knee injury after a collision with Montravius Adams.
The 29-year-old linebacker has been a big part of the Steelers’ defensive dominance this season.
Watt entered this game tied with Cincinnati’s Trey Hendrickson for the league lead with 17 sacks. He picked up two sacks against Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley to give him a bit of a cushion in the final week, but the Steelers now have bigger things to worry about.
The injury to Watt will test Pittsburgh’s defensive depth at linebacker. They are already without both DeMarvin Leal and Blake Martinez on the outside. Markus Golden is active as the backup weakside linebacker.
Watt headed to the locker room after the collision and will not return to Saturday’s game.
