The Texans are signing veteran linebacker Christian Kirksey to a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported Friday morning the former Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers linebacker agreed to a one-year deal with the team. The report was later followed up by the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.

Kirksey spent six seasons with the Browns before playing for the Packers last season.

He played and started in 11 games for the Packers, recording 77 total tackles, two sacks and two interceptions. Kirksey was returning from injury to repair a torn pectoral tendon in October 2019 with the Browns, where he was a team captain.
