LANDOVER, MD (93.7 The Fan) – There were key plays made, key plays dropped, great throws, defensive stops. A lot went into one of the best cross-conference games of the season. Here are the BIG plays from the Steelers 28-27 win at Washington Sunday.

1st quarter

·      TD, after a pair of penalties helped the drive, George Pickens made an amazing, spinning catch on a ball thrown behind him in the end zone for a 16-yard TD (7 plays, 70 yards, 2:52), 7-0

·      Washington starts with 9-yard gain on 1st play of ensuing series, Patrick Queen nailed Austin Ekeler for a 2-yard loss and then Cam Heyward with a 9-yard sack on 3rd and 3.

·      TD, Ekeler 1-yard run (3 plays, 15 yards, 1:32), 7-7

·      Momentum against them, Steelers DL Larry Ogunjobi with run stuff of Jeremy McNichols for a 3-yard loss in what could be a three-and-out for Washington

2nd quarter

·      TD, 3rd and goal, Russell Wilson with 3-yard pass to Pat Freiermuth (5 plays, 14 yards, 2:27), 14-7

·      FG, tackles for loss by DeShon Elliott and Queen hold Washington to a 48-yard FG by Zane Gonzalez (6 plays, 40 yards, 2:17), 14-10

·      Facemask penalty on Porter nullifies a sack by Alex Highsmith, which would have moved the ball inside the Commanders 10-yard line. Porter would commit another penalty, pass interference in the end zone against Terry McLaurin

·      Pressure coming in his face, Wilson throws one up that Mike Williams runs under and make an over-the-shoulder catch for a 32-yard score (6 plays, 46 yards, 3:24), 28-27 Steelers
