Thompson, 30, is averaging 6.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in 15.2 minutes while shooting 48.8% this season. He projects to be the Bulls’ backup big man behind center Nikola Vucevic. Thompson is a strong rebounder, and the Bulls have struggled on the glass when Vucevic rests. They've also often struggled to defend elite opposing big men.
Thompson has extensive playoff experience. He has played in 83 postseason games and four NBA Finals, including winning a championship with the Cavaliers in 2016.
