The Giants’ first touchdown on Monday night was scored by…tackle Andrew Thomas, who converted on a tackle-eligible play by catching a two-yard floated from Daniel Jones in the second quarter of their game against the Bucs:

Thomas was activated from injured reserve and had just returned to practice this week after missing three games with foot and ankle injuries to opposite legs, and ended up activated and making the first catch of his career – in the pros or at the collegiate level.

The Giants were in a funky formation where Thomas, technically lined up as the left tackle, reported in as eligible; Big Blue was in a modified 13 personnel (one back, three tight ends) with six linemen, but because Evan Engram was off the line on the left side as the lone split receiver, Thomas, who was uncovered, was the eligible lineman.

The score ended a quick two-play drive, which started at the Tampa Bay five-yard line after an Adoree Jackson interception off a Mike Evans tip.
