The Washington Football Team's Covid-19 outbreak has continued to worsen throughout the week as it prepares for a pivotal division game against the Eagles on Sunday.

Coming off a Week 14 loss to Dallas, the number of players on Washington's roster to test positive for Covid this week has grown, and grown, and grown, totaling 18 players by Wednesday evening, painting a grim outlook for its chances against a Philly team with an equal record as they both fight for the final playoff spot in the NFC.

Washington's Covid list continued to grow into Thursday, when safety Kam Curl and centers Keith Ismael and Tyler Larsen were added, bringing the total to 21 players.

The on-field implications are incalculable. Washington officially has 40 healthy players on its active roster and it's unclear who from the Covid list could be cleared in time for Sunday. Although, defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is hopeful Montez Sweat, whose mandatory 10-day isolation ends on Saturday, could be cleared in time to play. Between a fractured jaw and his positive Covid test, Sweat's missed more than a month of practice and games.

Also worth noting, after losing Ismael and Larsen to Covid on Thursday and Chase Roullier to a season-ending leg fracture in Week 8, Washington is now down to its fifth center, Jon Toth, who happens to be a plus-size model in his spare time.

It's been that odd of a week for the Washington Football Team.

Yet, somehow, they're expected to suit up for a football game on Sunday, one which could define their entire season.
