The Astros embarrassed the Yankees in the ALCS, sweeping New York in four games, the final two coming in the Bombers’ own backyard.

Now, the world champs are reportedly looking to pluck one of the Yankees’ top contributors from last year’s 99-win team.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Houston as “identified” Anthony Rizzo as the team’s top first base target this winter, as Rizzo heads towards free agency. Per Rosenthal, the Astros are also considering bringing back Yuli Gurriel or adding Jose Abreu, but Rizzo is their top target.

The Yankees reportedly want Rizzo back, while Rizzo likely wants a multi-year deal. He hit 32 home runs with the Yanks last season, and could see his batting line improve dramatically with shifting restrictions coming next season.
