The Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Sacramento Kings 99-96 Friday night (1/25). There were some positives. The Grizzlies tied the Kings 29-29 in the 3rd quarter, meaning they didn't get blasted in that spot as per usual. They were competitive throughout. They even had the good fortune of tying up the Kings on a jump ball in the final seconds to get a chance at winning the game, only to have a replay of the jump ball possession turn into a Grizzlies foul. Buddy Hield subsequently made 1 of 2 free throws and the Grizzlies couldn't tie it on the final possession as time ran out before Mike Conley could loft a late 3-point attempt.
Still the negative mojo continued as Garrett Temple went down with a shoulder injury. JB Bickerstaff indicated it wasn't too serious (x-ray was negative).
UPDATE: Temple out 1-2 weeks with shoulder injury
