It took till the 3rd quarter for Mike Singletary and the Memphis Express coaching staff to pull the "rip chord" on Christian Hackenberg after 2 dismal performances and a first half Saturday in Orlando that included two interceptions.

Enter Zach Mettenberg. Mettenberg had two touchdowns for 9-of-12 passing in the second half and is the clear answer now, it would seem, for Memphis.

But with only a half of football, and the Orlando Apollos final-drive playing keep-away, Memphis was unable to get the ball back for a final game drive and a chance to win. Final: Orlando Apollos 21 Memphis Express 17

Here's some quick hits from the 92.9 On-Air Team:

Mettenberger was great. Shows how ridiculous @aafexpress coaching staff was not going to him sooner. I mean, what were you seeing that we weren’t with Hackenberg? Defense that’s played well deserved better.
