J&J Show Preview: Memphis vs Arkansas on SEC Network+

• Tipoff: Memphis visits No. 12 Arkansas tonight at 7 p.m. CT at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Watch on SEC Network+

Jason Smith & John Martin previewed tonight's matchup on the J&J Show on Wednesday (10/28). LISTEN:

• Penny vs. Cal: Penny Hardaway’s Tigers face former Memphis coach John Calipari in their final exhibition before the regular season. Arkansas won last year’s exhibition 99–75 at FedExForum.
• Memphis player to watch: Senior guard Jayden Reid delivered 26 points, four assists, three steals and zero turnovers in the Tigers’ 75–58 exhibition win at Mississippi State.
• Supporting cast: Nemanja Popovic scored 12 against Mississippi State, Luke Almodovar added 11 and Rihards Vavers finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
• Arkansas arrives tested: The Razorbacks beat No. 15 Gonzaga 76–72 Saturday and have won 40 consecutive home exhibitions.
• What to watch: Memphis’ ball security, defensive rebounding and execution against a ranked opponent on the road. My focus: can Reid maintain control of the offense when Arkansas applies pressure?
• Bigger picture: The result won’t count toward either team’s record. Memphis opens the regular season against No. 18 Iowa State on Monday, Nov. 2, in Sioux Falls.
