Lawrence Dockery and WMC-TV reports indicated that ownership includes local figures Carey Talley, a former professional soccer player, and his brother Clark. Their family already has deep roots in the region’s soccer infrastructure, Carey and Clark’s parents, John and Kim Talley, helped develop the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
The team will play its home matches at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, which seats about 2,500. Memphis FC will compete in the Mid South Division of USL League Two’s Southern Conference according to the site.
One of the club’s main stated goals is to give local and domestic players a pathway to compete nationally—offering visibility, development, and opportunity as part of the broader USL ecosystem.
This comes in the wake of Memphis losing its USL Championship team, Memphis 901 FC, whose franchise rights were transferred to Santa Barbara Sky FC after stadium negotiations failed.
