DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys will be without left tackle Tyron Smith and wide receiver Cedrick Wilson for this Sunday's game against the New York Giants, coach Mike McCarthy announced Monday.
Smith aggravated an ankle injury in the second half of Sunday's win at Washington and was unable to return to the game.
Despite ruling him out for Sunday, McCarthy wasn't prepared to say the former All-Pro would miss multiple weeks. Smith previously missed three games after injuring the ankle against Minnesota in Week 8. McCarthy added that he doesn't believe Smith's ankle injury will require surgery.
Smith remained on the sideline for the rest of the game and appeared to be in good spirits and was moving around well after the game, Cowboys' insider Nick Eatman told Shan and RJ Monday.
It is unclear as of now which direction the Cowboys will go to replace Smith, but Ty Nsekhe did fill in for him after he went down last week. Terence Steele is another option. However, Dallas could need both to start as they could also be without right tackle La'el Collins, who could be looking at a suspension for his role in a scuffle with Washington defender, Will Bradley-King.

As for Wilson, the wideout will be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus on Monday morning.
Wilson becomes the fourth Cowboys receiver to be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list since training camp began, joining CeeDee Lamb, Noah Brown and Amari Cooper.
Wilson has 32 catches for 438 yards and three touchdowns.
