The Memphis Grizzlies fell 130–122 to the terrible Washington Wizards at FedExForum on Saturday night (12/20) despite a big night from Santi Aldama, who led all scorers with 37 points and 10 rebounds.
Memphis built a 20-point lead early, leading 68–53 at halftime, but couldn’t sustain it as Washington rallied behind big performances from CJ McCollum and Kyshawn George, who each scored 28 points in the comeback. The Wizards dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies 42–27 and shooting over 60% in the period to erase the deficit. Alex Sarr added 18 points and 11 rebounds for Washington, while bench scoring helped fuel the surge.
For Memphis, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 22 and Cam Spencer added 19, but foul trouble and limited depth with only nine available players hampered the Grizzlies down the stretch.
