And the bleeding continues. Final/OT: Trail Blazers 115 Grizzlies 113
For a good 5 minutes (or more) during the first game of the NBA In-season Tournament for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Trail Blazers in Portland on a red court it seemed like the bleeding was going to stop. Maybe the red court was a indicator it wouldn't.
The Grizzlies losing streak seemed likely to end with Memphis up 96-88 with 5:03 remaining as David Roddy jammed it home. Then Jerami Grant became Superman for the rest of the game burying jumpers including a 19-foot step back at 1:32 to draw Portland closer at 100-95. Fast forward to Grant's three pointer with 39 seconds remaining in overtime, and it was over.
It wasn't for lack of effort by stars Jaren Jackson Jr. (30 points, 10 rebounds) and Desmond Bane (33 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks). It appears that's all the firepower Memphis has to this point with Ja Morant 19 games away from return from suspension along with bigs Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke out for the duration in all likelihood.
Next Game: Sunday (11/5) at 8:00 p.m. (pregame at 7:30 p.m.) vs. the Portland Trail Blazers on 92.9 FM ESPN. (680 AM/Audacy App in Memphis)
