- The third quarter swung the game back toward New Orleans. The Pelicans scored 41 points in the period and carried a 100–95 lead into the fourth, putting Memphis in position to chase the game down the stretch.
- Zion Williamson and Karlo Matković led the Pelicans with 25 points apiece. Williamson also collected 11 rebounds as New Orleans improved to 3–4.
- Cam Spencer led Memphis with seven assists. The Grizzlies extended the contest into overtime but finished one point short of keeping their season-opening streak alive.
- New Orleans is building momentum. After losing their first four games, the Pelicans have won three straight, following victories over Sacramento and Atlanta with Monday’s win in Memphis.
