Memphis Tigers Football is gearing up for the 2025 season and Tigers football head coach Ryan Silverfield faces the some pressure. Despite solid records, fans and boosters are hungry for a signature season that reestablishes Memphis as a top Group of Five power, especially with playoff expansion looming. Can they win the AAC?

On the basketball side, Penny Hardaway also feels the heat after losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, as expectations remain sky-high given his recruiting prowess.

Meanwhile for the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant carries pressure to return healthy and lead the team back to contention after a turbulent year. Players like GG Jackson and even new coach Tuomas Iisalo have lots of pressure to perform given the major organizational shakeups with the Grizzlies.

Monday's Geoff Calkins Show points out an underlying issue with the Memphis Grizzlies having not signed a "long term" lease agreement with Paul Young and the City of Memphis. The current lease runs through 2029.
