Despite being shorthanded, Memphis showed plenty of fight and even carried an 88-84 lead into the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies leaned on a balanced effort, highlighted by a career-high 23 points from rookie Tyler Burton along with 16 points and seven assists from Ty Jerome. Memphis continued to push the pace and matched Boston’s physicality for much of the night.
Boston, however, flipped the game late. After trailing early in the fourth, the Celtics used a decisive run to take control, fueled by Jaylen Brown’s 30-point performance and a strong bench showing from Luka Garza, who added 22. Derrick White also came alive in the final period, scoring key baskets to swing momentum.
The Grizzlies had chances down the stretch but couldn’t get enough stops as Boston executed in the closing minutes. Memphis’ effort kept it close throughout, but the Celtics’ experience and late-game shot-making proved to be the difference.
The loss is another tough one for a Memphis team that continues to compete despite adversity and injuries. The good news for Memphis...draft positioning.
