Mayor Paul Young joined Gabe Kuhn in-studio at 92.9 FM ESPN on Wednesday (10/22) to talk about a variety of Memphis sports and general topics including the Grizzlies/FedExForum lease, the National Guard and "Memphis Safe Task Force", and moves with the Memphis Redbirds & Tigers. Listen to the full interview here:

During his interview with the Gabe Kuhn Show on 92.9 FM ESPN Mayor Young talked about the National Guard being surprisingly accommodating with "traffic control" and "support to law enforcement". Young added, "I think some of the concerns (about the National Guard coming to Memphis) have been off set by their willingness to partner with us by me being in the room (to plan)."

The mayor added that he feels confident a resolution will arrive on the Memphis Grizzlies lease and said he is pleased with expenditures for AutoZone Park. He also still feels good about the University of Memphis taking over Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Finally, Mayor Young said "it was out of bounds" for (Stephen A. Smith) to speak on Memphis without exploring the city. "I want him to come here and become a believer." Young said his team is still working to arrange a full city visit for Stephen A. Smith. "We need more people pushing what's right about our city."
