Memphis seized control early, holding Houston to just nine first-quarter points while building a lead that reached 22 in the third quarter before fending off a late Rockets rally.
Cedric Coward continued his outstanding Summer League with a game-high 28 points, leading a balanced Grizzlies attack that featured five players in double figures. No. 3 overall pick Cam Boozer added another impressive all-around performance, posting a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double while anchoring Memphis on both ends of the floor.
