If there's such a thing as a "refreshing" loss, Sunday night's game against arguably the best team in the NBA in the Boston Celtics was that. Memphis' starting lineup outscored a Celtics starting lineup of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, & Derrick White 79-75. Unfortunately the a lack of bench scoring and experience in the closing moments caught up to the Grizzlies as they dropped their 10th game of the season Sunday night at FedExForum 102-100.
As 92.9 FM ESPN Host/CA Columnist Mark Giannotto pointed out on the X social media platform after the game, the Grizzlies have likely found their starting wing in Santi Aldama who was the Player of the Game delivering 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Desmond Bane was fire from the 3-point arc landing 7-of-14 with 30 points. Jaren Jackson added 17 points.
Memphis will take a couple days off and get back to it on the road in Houston on Wednesday night against the Rockets and ole pal Dillon Brooks. Pregame Wednesday (11/22) live at 6:30 p.m. Tip at 7:00 p.m. with Eric Hasseltine on the call live on 92.9 FM ESPN.
