The Memphis Grizzlies delivered their most dominant performance of the NBA Summer League on Thursday night, overwhelming the previously unbeaten Atlanta Hawks 96-64 in Las Vegas. Memphis set the tone immediately with one of the most lopsided opening quarters in Summer League history, racing out to a 32-2 lead after forcing turnovers and converting easy transition baskets.
Jason Smith and John Martin were impressed by the Grizz blowout and discussed it on Friday's (7/17) J&J Show:
Rookie Cameron Boozer once again led the charge, finishing with 24 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting while adding seven rebounds and three assists. Memphis controlled every facet of the game, dominating the paint, knocking down perimeter shots, and holding Atlanta to just 22 first-half points. The Grizzlies' defensive intensity never let up as they cruised to a 32-point victory to improve to 3-1 in Las Vegas.
Next up: The Memphis Grizzlies will next play in the NBA Summer League semifinals against the Houston Rockets on Saturday (7/18) at 5:30 p.m. on Prime Video.
