Grizzlies Snap Losing Streak, Win on Wednesday Night
The Memphis Grizzlies entered the game as heavy underdogs. They left the game victorious. It required a full team effort from the Grizz to take down the Nikola Jokic led Nuggets.
Six of the 12 Grizzlies that took to the floor scored in double digits. Ty Jerome paced the group offensively, scoring 21 points on eight of 15 shots from the field. Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored 19, GG Jackson chipped in 16, Cedric Coward dropped 15, and Jaylen Wells put up 11 to round out the starting 5. Taylor Hendricks scored 13 points in 24 minutes off the bench.
The Grizzlies' defense made some massive plays down the stretch of the game. Taylor Hendricks led the way there with some impactful plays, racking up six steals and three blocks. Jerome led the way on the glass, with nine rebounds on the night.
The Grizzlies out rebounded the Nuggets by a count of 48-46 even with the lack of size on the Grizzlies' current roster. The home team forced 19 turnovers and created 27 points off of those turnovers. The Nuggets only forced 10 turnovers for 10 points. The Grizzlies outpaced Denver on the fastbreak, outscoring them 29-21. Denver dominated the paint, outscoring the Grizzlies 58-46.

For Nuggets rookie Christian Braun, praise from mom is high praise indeedAP News/Matt YorkThis distinction could have obviously gone to Nikola Jokic for leading the team in both scoring and rebounding, but the double digit turnovers from the big man push me towards Braun, who was also impactful. Braun scored only three fewer points than the Joker, 26-29, on an efficient 11 of 19 from the field.
Braun brought down seven boards, racked up five assists, and four steals to go along with his 26 points.
