The lineup was the same coming off a Grizzlies win against the Clippers Sunday afternoon, but the result was different Tuesday night for the Grizzlies. The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 134-107 in a Tuesday evening affair in LA as part of the NBA's "In-season tournament". In this case, and possibly a first for many when it comes to Anthony Davis and the Lakers in a regular season game, the opponent was motivated.
But when Santi Aldama is your leading scorer off the bench with 24 points, that's not a good sign. Desmond Bane being forced to do more only scored 15 points while Jaren Jackson Jr. added 8. Ziaire Williams, David Roddy and Kenny Lofton all scored in double figures off the bench but it wasn't enough to overcome D'Angelo Russell's 24 along with 19 and 11 from Anthony Davis.
But it's been more than just a depleted lineup for Memphis. The Grizzlies couldn't stop the Lakers in the paint and weren't blocking out. Even Jaxson Hayes wasn't blocked out at the free throw line here.
