The Memphis Grizzlies edged the San Antonio Spurs 106-105 in a thrilling Tuesday night contest at the FedExForum.

Geoff Calkins talked about the win with Daily Memphian Reporter Chris Herrington on Wednesday's (1/7/26) Geoff Calkins Show:

Memphis overcame an early deficit by exploding in the 3rd quarter and holding on down the stretch for the one-point victory. Cam Spencer led the Grizzlies with 21 points, including the game’s final five points in the last 1:26, capped by a go-ahead jumper with 36.5 seconds left.

Spencer also contributed eight rebounds and eight assists in the win. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 21 points and Jock Landale scored 19 to help offset a big night from the Spurs. San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama scored 30 points in his return from a two-game absence, and Julian Champagnie chipped in 23, but it wasn’t enough as the Grizzlies snapped their four-game skid.

Next game: Wednesday night (1/7/26) Memphis hosts the Phoenix Suns at 7:00 p.m. (pregame at 6:30 p.m.) on 92.9 FM ESPN
