Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo from ESPN updated their 2023 projections for the NBA Draft on Wednesday (5/31). Givony and Woo listed Ohio State's Brice Sensabaugh as a projected (possible) Memphis Grizzlies pick in that #25 slot in the 1st round of the 2023 NBA Draft. Here's what Jonathan Givony wrote in describing this selection:
Sensabaugh has been hobbled by a knee issue he suffered late in Ohio State's season, which required surgery and has thus far prevented him from conducting competitive team workouts, a source told ESPN. He nevertheless shot the ball well at his pro day last week -- according to teams that were present -- and recently got cleared to begin visiting and working out for teams, which should help reveal a better picture of where his draft stock lies in the coming weeks. -- Givony
At Ohio State Sensabaugh was a solid shooter, above 40%, at 6'6".
Jason Smith reviewed the top selections the ESPN mock draft and discussed the direction here for the Memphis Grizzlies. It's clear the Grizzlies are now in a position to "go for it" with more established players they (could) acquire using assets, which would potentially include parting ways with their 2023 selection in order to boost a crowded roster of younger pieces.
