Without Ja Morant (shoulder) in the lineup Sunday night (1/7) it was Vince Williams Jr. who made the difference in the Memphis Grizzlies 121-115 win over the Phoenix Suns. The Grizzlies go back-to-back with wins in Los Angeles over the Lakers (Friday night) and Sunday in Phoenix thanks to 25+ from both Jaren Jackson Jr. (28 points/10 rebounds) and Marcus Smart (25 points/8 assists). Desmond Bane added 23 points with 5 assists.
But it was the late game effort of Vince Williams Jr. off the bench that propelled the Grizzlies.
Williams had the interior block on Nurkic and then a poke out to Bane who registered the dagger three late for Memphis.
The Grizzlies held off a tough Suns team where all five starters were in double-digit scoring Sunday night. Devin Booker scored 24 points. Kevin Durant had a double-double 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Next up: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Dallas Mavericks Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. (pregame at 7:00 p.m.) live on 92.9 FM ESPN.
