WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Josh Minott scored 15 points and DeAndre Williams and Jalen Duren added 14 points each as Memphis topped Wichita State 82-64 on Saturday.

Landers Nolley II had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for Memphis (7-5, 1-1 American Athletic Conference. Williams led the Tigers with seven rebounds and had four assists.

Tyson Etienne had 17 points for the Shockers (9-4, 0-1). Dexter Dennis added 16 points. Ricky Council IV had 10 points.

Tigers Roll to 82-64 Win at Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. – The Memphis Tigers led by as many as 28 points and ran away with an 82-64 win at Wichita State Saturday morning in Wichita, Kan.

Memphis (7-5, 1-1 American Athletic Conference) was paced by Josh Minott’s 15 points, and he also had six rebounds and two steals. Jalen Duren and DeAndre Williams added 14 points apiece, and Landers Nolley II was also in double figures with 11 points. Malcolm DandridgeLester Quinones and Earl Timberlake all had seven points in starting efforts.

The Tigers scored 21 points over Wichita State’s season average of 61.8 points per game by its opponents.

Memphis shot 52.4 percent as a team (33-63) and held a 74-46 lead with 7:46 to play in the game.

The Tigers blistered the nets in the first half and led 49-34 at the break. Memphis shot 58.8 percent from the floor (20-34) in the opening 20 minutes, with Minott, Williams and Duren combining for 29 points.

Wichita State (9-4, 0-1 AAC) was led by Tyson Etienne’s 17 points, but the Tigers held him to 4-of-11 shooting and 2-of-8 from 3-point range.

The Tigers return home next week to host Tulsa on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Cincinnati next Sunday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 p.m.
